ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety Management

TQS conducts ISO 45001 certification audits for organisations worldwide. Our auditors evaluate your occupational health and safety management system against every clause of the standard, from initial gap analysis through to re-certification.

What is ISO 45001?

ISO 45001:2018 is the globally recognised standard for Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management Systems, published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It replaced OHSAS 18001 and sets out requirements for a comprehensive framework that enables organisations to systematically identify workplace hazards, assess and prioritise risks, and put effective controls in place to protect workers from harm. The standard adopts a risk-based approach that drives organisations to proactively eliminate hazards and minimise OH&S risks through a cycle of planning, operation, performance evaluation, and improvement.

Organisations pursue ISO 45001 certification to demonstrate that worker health and safety is managed systematically, not reactively. A certified OHSMS provides evidence of due diligence, reduces workplace incidents, lowers workers' compensation and insurance costs, and satisfies the legal and contractual demands of regulators, clients, and industry bodies. ISO 45001 follows the Annex SL high-level structure, making it fully compatible with ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environment) for integrated management systems.

Al Tair Quality Services (TQS) conducts ISO 45001 certification audits worldwide, working with ASCB, EIAC and IAF accreditation bodies. With 25+ years of experience, our qualified auditors assess your OH&S management system thoroughly and impartially. We perform gap analysis, Stage 1 documentation reviews, Stage 2 on-site assessments, annual surveillance audits, and re-certification audits. Certificates are issued by QRS upon successful completion of the audit.

How It Works

The TQS Audit Process

TQS conducts ISO 45001 certification audits through a structured, three-stage process. Here is how our auditors take you from application to certified status.

1

Application & Gap Analysis

You submit your application and our auditors review your OH&S management system documentation, identify any gaps against ISO 45001 requirements, and define the audit scope based on your workplace hazards and risks.

2

Stage 1 & Stage 2 Audits

Our auditors conduct a documentation and readiness review (Stage 1), followed by a thorough on-site assessment (Stage 2) evaluating your OHSMS against every clause of ISO 45001.

3

Certification & Surveillance

Once all requirements are satisfied, your ISO 45001 certificate is issued by QRS. TQS then conducts annual surveillance audits to maintain your certification, with a full re-certification audit every three years.
